- Registration data: your name and mobile number, verified by OTP. A profile photo is optional.
- Match profile: college, branch, year, skills, interests and what you are looking for.
- Community activity: messages you send in community rooms and private chats.
- AI tool inputs: your career goals, target roles and interview practice answers.
- Technical data: device type, app version, IP address and usage patterns — collected automatically for security and improvement.
3 How We Use Your Information
- To create and verify your account.
- To match you with compatible study buddies.
- To place you in the right college and city communities.
- To power AI career guidance and mock interview feedback.
- To keep the Platform safe — moderation, fraud and abuse prevention.
- To improve features and fix issues.
4 Chat & Message Retention
Community rooms are text-only and messages auto-expire after a short retention window, so discussions stay fresh. Private chats exist only between mutually matched students. We recommend never sharing sensitive personal information in any chat.
5 What We Share
- With other students: your profile (name, college, branch, year, skills) is visible to students for matching and communities.
- With service providers: OTP, hosting and analytics partners who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- For legal reasons: where required by law, court order or government authority.
We never sell your personal information to anyone.
6 Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — encrypted transport, access controls and OTP-based login — to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, but protecting student data is a core design goal of Campus Buddy.
7 Your Rights & Controls
- View & edit: update your profile anytime from the app.
- Block & report: control exactly who can reach you.
- Delete account: request deletion anytime by emailing us — we remove or anonymise your data within a reasonable period, except records we must keep by law.
8 Children's Privacy
Campus Buddy is meant for college students aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
9 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, and significant changes will be announced in the app.
